                                                                    The Group 6 Martini Porsche of Jacky Ickx and Gijs van Lennep leads
                                                                    an Inaltera past the pits complex during the night.

                                                                    Using a 2.14 liter turbocharged engine, the Porsche 936 started from
                                                                    the pole position and led start to finish. Ickx recorded his third Le Mans
                                                                    win, with van Lennep taking his second. It was the first victory for a
                                                                    turbocharged car.
